About This Service

What Is Custom Packaging?

Custom packaging refers to boxes, bags, mailer envelopes, and protective inserts that are designed and produced specifically for a brand's product - in the correct size, with the brand's artwork printed on the exterior, and with the structural specification matched to the product's weight, fragility, and distribution method.

Unlike stock packaging purchased off the shelf, custom packaging eliminates wasted space, eliminates generic appearance, and transforms every box, bag, or mailer into a brand touchpoint. For D2C brands, gifting companies, and premium product lines, packaging has become as important as the product inside it.

Packaging produced under this service covers the full spectrum - from a 100-unit run of luxury gift boxes for an artisan brand to a 10,000-unit run of corrugated shipping cartons for an eCommerce business with a national distribution footprint.

Why It Matters

The Case for Custom Packaging

Packaging is not a cost - it is the silent salesperson that works before, during, and after every purchase. Here is why it matters.

Packaging Is the Product's First Ambassador

Before a customer touches, smells, or uses a product, they have already formed an impression based on its packaging. A well-designed box communicates quality, brand values, and product category - and a poor one creates doubt about the product before it is even opened.

Unboxing as a Brand Experience

The unboxing experience has become a significant brand event - particularly for D2C and gifting brands. Packaging that is thoughtfully designed with tissue paper, inserts, and printed interiors creates memorable moments that are shared on social media, extending organic brand reach at no additional cost.

Protection That Preserves Product Value

Custom-sized boxes with correctly specified flute grades and wall thicknesses eliminate the damage, shifting, and crushing that occurs when products are shipped in oversized or under-engineered packaging. Proper protection preserves product value and reduces returns and replacement costs.

Sustainable Options Available

Recyclable kraft paper, FSC-certified board, water-based inks, and plastic-free closures are available across all packaging formats. Sustainability in packaging is increasingly expected by consumers - and it is an achievable specification without compromising print quality or structural integrity.

Compliance for Regulated Categories

Food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic packaging is produced in compliance with applicable regulatory standards - including mandatory label requirements, ingredient declaration space, and food-safe material specifications - so every unit shipped is ready for retail or distribution without rework.

Our Process

Dieline to Delivered & Approved

A five-stage process is followed on every packaging order - from structural dieline creation and artwork review to physical sample production and quality-checked dispatch.

1

Brief & Dieline

Product dimensions, weight, fragility, and distribution method are gathered. A structural dieline (box template) is created with exact fold lines, glue flaps, and bleed marks.

2

Design & Artwork

Artwork is applied to the dieline with correct colour profiles, Pantone references, and finish specifications. A print-ready PDF proof is shared for approval before press.

3

Sample Production

A physical prototype or sample box is produced before the full run. The sample is assessed for structural integrity, print quality, colour accuracy, and fit around the product.

4

Press & Finishing

Full production is run on offset or digital press with finishing applied - lamination, UV coating, foil stamping, embossing, or spot varnish - before die-cutting and folding.

5

QC & Dispatch

Every batch is inspected for structural, print, and finish quality before packing and dispatch. Flat-packed boxes are palletised and delivered with an assembly guide where applicable.
